Candle maintenance is very important because it determines how long the candle will burn. We have some RECOMMENDATIONS for you on how to look after your candle and enjoy it for as long as possible:
- The MOST IMPORTANT thing is not to move the candle, not to carry it, but to place it on a flat, firm surface so that the text appears evenly and the letters do not „run” out of their place.
- Regularly shorten the wick by about 4 mm, no special tools are needed, just a pair of scissors will do. Also, if a black bubble (also known as a cap) has formed on the wick, it must be cut off.
- Always burn the candle until the surface of the wax melts (about 3 hours) and reaches the sides of the container. Otherwise, the quality of the candle is severely compromised, as a „tunnel” will form and some of the unburnt wax will remain.
- Black smoke after a long burn is a sign that the wick is too long. The candle must be extinguished before the wick is lit.
- It is recommended to burn the candle for about 4 hours, but if you want to burn the candle for longer, extinguish the candle, wait for the wax to harden and then relight it, which will make the candle last longer.
- Each Mystery Candle comes with a lid, so you can simply put the lid on the candle to extinguish it, which is safer and prevents the smell of smoke from spreading around the room, and the candle will burn out quietly when it is covered.
